During the Royal Commission hearings, Angus Stewart made the following observation: “There are currently 817 congregations in Australia with over 68000 active members. Over the past 25 years, the active membership of the church in Australia has grown 29% from approximately 53000 members in 1990. In the same period, Australia’s population growth has been 38%."
So growth of the organization is not keeping up with the population growth.

Are beards allowed yet for MS and Elders??
by EndofMysteries ini remember a little over 15 years ago, one of my first jobs at a grocery store, the manager was happy that they passed a new policy allowing them to grow a beard.
previously they were not allowed.
among the usa, i guess beards were considered not very professional still.

Sir82 you are 100% correct - no beards on the circuit or district platform.

As said in Northern Europe it is not uncommon. The last congregation We attended, I was one of four brothers with a beard. One was an elder...however around convention time when he had parts he was hypocritically clean shaved, as the platform is otherwise still a no no. I did have persons from other less tolerant congregations ask whether my razor was broken. Another person asked whether I was a brother or just the spouse that tagged along (I was not wearing a badge).

New video "Jehovah Has Done So Much for Me"
by NoIdeaWhatToBelieve inhey all,.
have you seen the new video on http://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/activities/living-bible-principles/adult-survivor-child-abuse-video/ ?.
isn't this too much of a coincidence?

From what I gather the abuse took place before she became a JW. This means that the abuser when it came out most likely was reported to the authorities and it also means that she did not need to sit down with him in a JC setting where she was asked all intimate details. Therefor this story is completely irrelevant in regards to how child abuse is handled in the organization.
it is the tale of a harmed victim who is attracted to the cult's bogus hope of paradise where the God who could have prevented this abuse will make all things new and she will only then be able to put this past behind her. The cult preys on such fragile persons.

Need the hardest evidence possible that humans have lived for more than 6000 years
by ILoveTTATT2 insince coming out of the witnesses, i have gone through a transformation in thought and in mind.
i started with the usual: i thought that jesus was god.
then i investigated more about the bible and thought that the bible was not true, given the many contradictions, failed prophecies, etc.. then i investigated evolution and read lots and now i accept evolution and natural selection as things that are true.. now, i need to make my dad rethink everything.

Anthony Morris III life story
by campaign of hate inam3rd life story is in may 15th 2015 study wt.. after reading, he sounds very mental unstable.
i know you guys will be saying "yeah, obviously he is"...but we don't have any concrete evidence saying he has a mental condition.. has anyone ever dug a little deeper, perhaps try to find some people who would have known him from the army?
i mean, he probably doesn't know that many people, he was only serving for a year for christs sake.

Interesting is if you listen to the audio of the life story of Anthony Morris the third, it is read by Anthony Morris III himself. Same goes for other GB life stories. Most dubs are very positive about this. -

Great positive thread. I met many great people in the organization. Not for nothing a remained a JW for almost 40 years. Being raised by a single widowed mom, many genuine persons helped my mom and subsequently me. Later I always tried to pay it forward. Again, great positive thread. -

Slow motion pioneers
by 1Averagejoe inobserving our local unemployed pioneers and how long they take to get to their first or next call, usually taking the longest route to get to one they know won't be there anyway.
along the way it's gossipy this and that.
pioneers?

My wife pioneered for over a decade, 90 honest hours a month, while holding a Job...
Seeing the dubs now sitting next to a cart, gossiping away while writing their easy hours is a complete joke.
